I came in late to the King/Maxwell series. Split Second permitted me a better understanding as to why they lost their positions with the USSS... A quick read.

Another great book by Baldacci. One murder becomes linked with the disappearance of a Presidential candidate. There's no shortage of action as King and Maxwell work at solving both.

Split Second --- by --- David Baldani.
This is as good a mystery secret service novel as you could wish for. Lots of turns and bends --- more than you could ask for. Lots of false cues and clues that send you scurrying in the wrong direction. You will literally zip read your way right through this novel. Gripping.

I mostly liked this book. It was fast-paced and full of action. I thought the "villain" was not a very good one and was quite weak but overall the plot was good

Wanted to read the king and maxwell books since I enjoyed the show. Book set a difference pace then the show but still worth the read. Moving on to the next book in the series.

Not my favorite Baldacci book at this point, but it was an ok read. The book introduces Sean & Michelle, the protaganoists in the series...but the story line is a bit convuleted, and hard to follow at times...too many "who done it " theories....ends well though...so I will continue on to the second book.

Messy plot with enormous holes ... the story began well enough but unraveled towards last quartile of the book with one after another implausible, improbable, and illogical events and decisions made by the pair of super secret agents. AND I am a fan of Baldacci novels, most recently, "The Forgotten."

Once again Baldacci has a great buildup to a big letdown at the end. An ending that definitely does not live up to what went before. A so-so book.

I do enjoy relaxing and reading Baldacci books. I had read a book previous with these characters. It was nice to find out in this book how they met. A few unbelievable events but hey its fiction right! I would recommend to people who enjoy Baldacci but not one of his best.
