Wholeheartedly agree with misterwisp and trotter73. There are talented folks at work here and the comedy is smart (and silly) but if you don't like puns/slapstick or movies like Airplane, Blazing Saddles or Hot Shots then this won't be your cup of tea.

I like the part about the dog driving the car...that's what drew me to the series. And Rashida Jones.

fans of the movie Airplane or the Naked Gun series will like this. If that's not your kind of comedy, avoid this..

While the acting was great, I just couldn't get used to the style! I didn't finish it! Way over-board!

This is a very distinct style of comedy. It's stupid and absurd, but in a deliberate and purposeful way. You can tell they crafted the stupidity with care for maximum comedic effect, it's not dumb by accident. It works pretty well mostly. The stupidity is done in a clever way. You have to see it to understand. The series is basically an over the top absurdist and satirical take on crime TV. It makes fun of some of the cliches of shows like CSI and Law & Order. Laughs are earned with setup and punchlines, the humor never relies on vulgarity or insults which is a nice change of pace.
