My trend with Sarah MacLean seems to be that the final books in her series are my favorites. This was a great end to what was already a really good series; the twist that the mysterious Chase is a woman (revealed in the very last sentence of the previous book) makes this a really fun conclusion to the quartet, and the banter between Chase/Georgiana and her partners was even better than in previous volumes, now that you know she's a woman. She's very well matched with her male lead, and I stayed up late into the night finishing this one. After all, who doesn't love a character who is simultaneously: a) the ruined daughter of a duke; b) London's most exclusive madam; and c) masquerading as a man while ruling London's most notorious gaming hell? Answer: no one. And so, unsurprisingly, it's very fun to read about her.

MacLean wraps up her "Rule of Scoundrels" series with another fantastic entry, giving the reader the backstory of the mysterious Chase, who we shockingly learned at the end of the last book was a woman. MacLean excels with her characters, and her excellent romance scenes -- no reader will soon forget the scene with Georgiana and Duncan at the pool. While Georgiana's struggle with needing to be married is somewhat overshadowed by Duncan's backstory, this is nevertheless a great read.
