A mind-blowing read! What if "racial reassignment surgery" was possible? Would a person decide to have the surgery because of identifying with a different "race"? Because of social pressure? To manipulate? To be more successful? To "disappear"? Jess Row discloses his characters' motivation gradually in a plot with twists and turns that reads like part-mystery, part-science-fiction. Fascinating exploration of "race", identity, white guilt, and other themes. I highly recommend.

bonus points for originality, and making me personally reflect on how I wish to be visually represented! A tad longish and the 'resolution' was less realistic than the beginning lead me to hope for. Still, quite a 'fresh' undertaking.
