You can see things from both perspectives, the rebels side and the military side, which is really helpful. Though the characters are likable and interesting in this book, I really liked the first one a lot more. It took me some time to get hooked in this one, unlike These Broken Stars. All the stories and characters have the same goal, however. I think Jubilee was a bit of a cliché character but that may be just me.

This is book 2 of the Starbound trilogy. If you haven't read book one, you can still enjoy this series, though you might miss some references and information that was given in the first book. Jubilee and Flynn are both likable characters and the author does a great job portraying both sides of the conflict and making the reader understand what is going on. This was a great science fiction book, but if you are expecting space travel in your science fiction, there isn't much of that here. Still it was a wonderful book and I look forward to reading book 3.

I think that from the first book, These Broken Stars, there was a reference to one of the characters here. I won't say who, but I found that tie very stunning, as it wasn't what I expected to be the bridge between these two separate books. Jubilee Chase and Flynn Cormac; two completely different people whose fates should never have allowed them to bond. Sounding familiar yet? Well, here on Avon there are the rebels, and those who are sent to crush the rebellion. I, along with many, wanted more of Lilac and Tarver at the end of the previous book. But here, I found another imperfect pair that both infuriates and excites my reader side. I actually finished this book really fast. 5/5 stars.

This shattered world is one of my favourtie books. I think that you could read this book first and still understand what is going on. I truly believe this book is a phenominon.

This book was absolutely nothing like These Broken Stars but they are both soooo equally amazing. The entire trilogy is about life in space, but the plots are so different. I really fell in love with Lilac and Tarver in the first book, so I was a little disappointed with how little they appeared in this Shattered World. I think that was the only thing that I found wrong with it, but I did hear that Lilac, Tarver, Jubilee and Flynn are supposed to make an appearance in the third book. Absolutely no inappropriate content. Also, if you are looking for a slow-burning romance, this series is the way to go.

This book really had a different feel from These Broken Stars, but once you get over that it's fun to read. Definitely a different perspective, and sometimes the whole rebel/rebellion/conspiracy concept got old, but overall it was an intense interesting read and worth the time.

I was really into the first book, These Broken Stars, and the concept of being lost in space. I sorta hoped that the authors would bring back Lilac and Tarver, but this was a good read, just not as much as I thought the first was.
