This book was interesting because I learned a lot about extinct animals and how they got endangered. I also liked how they described how scientists tried to have a larger population. I was surprised to see how the Red River Softshell Turtle after the scientists tried they still only had 4 left. . It pointed out some characteristics of the animals. This book was a fun and interesting book. There were some hard words but there was a glossary. I would recommend this book to grade 3-4.

I really like this book because it is all about animals and I love animals especially the whales. One thing that I would have added or changed is when it says "how many there are now" it was specific like does that mean in the world or the ones that they found because I got confused.
