NO RECIPES! I am so disappointed. I don't need persuading, I wanted nice low-carb recipes with a Mediterranean approach. I did follow Zone in the 90s and lost a lot of weight (96 lbs over 3 years if I remember right) but I was always hungry on Zone, I could not maintain the weight loss after a time. I am now on a very low-carbohydrate way of eating, and was hoping to find inspiration in this book. There is a one-week suggested menu, with a few recipes included, but it is very minimal. I will see if I want to read after all. But the material is very familiar to me, no need to learn about either Zone or the Mediterranean Diet. My favourite Zone cookbook is Zone Meals in Minutes. Practical book, haven't taken it out in years but I like it a lot. I wonder if Ulana2001 and I are talking about the same book?

I did like the book and I found the information interesting but not something I can sustain. It was well written and the chapters were set up in a way that you could not read the whole book if you just want to skip and browse.

Even though I think Dr Sears' information is accurate and helpful, I find the diet too restrictive and not practical enough for me. Cooking healthy on a daily basis from fresh and local ingredients is more important to me than finding the ingredients in these recipes. It's just not practical. The ingredients are too hard to locate throughout the year.
