(*Quote*) - "Necessity is the mother of invention."

This 3-disc, 9-episode presentation was originally a British TV broadcast from 2007.

From transportation, to weaponry, to outer space travel, to surgical procedures, and beyond - This informative documentary revisits the inventors and inventions of the 20th century that have made the most significant changes and impact on the way that we live today.

Unfortunately, this otherwise interesting presentation lost itself some major points by being hosted by the decidedly irritating persona of James May.

Neither amusing, nor charismatic - May was in one's face far too often for his own good. And, as a result, he became something of an irksome "fly in the ointment" (so to speak) that clearly marred this program.
