The Coen Brothers Best Picture Oscar Nominee transforms into the season's most talked about TV debut. It features a new "true crime" story and new characters, all chilled in the trademark dry wit, murderous mayhem and "Minnesota nice" of the original classic film. Lorne Malvo, is a manipulative master criminal who changes the life of insurance salesmen Lester Nygaard. Gus Grimly and Molly Solverson are the small-town police officers who join forces to uncover Lester's secrets.

This 10-episode series is captivating. Be forewarned that it is chock-full of malevolence, duplicity, and brutality - with humor intertwined. Very different from anything I've seen before! Definitely going to watch Season 2 (and 3 when released).

I'm really enjoying this show- it's well produced, written and acted. For some reason I thought this was some sort of remake of the movie, and I stayed away from watching it. Big mistake! The TV series is indebted to the movie in many ways, but I found the characterizations and story lines run deeper than the film.

If you enjoyed the film you will love this. Billy Bob Thornton is amazing and Colin Hanks proves he can act almost as well as his Dad. Martin Freeman plays against type and it is fascinating to watch his on screen character change from timid to nasty! There is a second series being made, wirh a different cast. Look forward to that.
