Overall a good Christmas album with some less well-known songs. But I find I’m still not a big fan of Dame Kiri Te Kanawa doing Christmas music (which I had thought from another choral Christmas album). And I’m really not a fan of Elizabeth McGovern’s singing. She’s not so much bad as I just really don’t like her singing style. Julian Ovenden, however, is great.

I enjoyed this soundtrack. The music is so good and uplifting. A good item to borrow if you are a Downtown Abbey Fan!

I didn't give it the full 5-star rating only because my preference was not for soooo many traditional carols. While I do appreciate the choral and classic presentations, I would only select a handful and then opt for the popular singer upbeat versions.

If you like traditional carols, you will love this.

I have this cd set and I recommended to the Library that they bought a few. It is just amazing !!! A variety of styles, from the classic songs to the lesser-know melodies. The revelation of this cd set is the ***AMAZING*** voice of Julian Ovenden, who sings three songs, including a goosebumps-inducing, lump-in-the-throat, tearjerking-creating version of "O HOLY NIGHT". I assure you, this will leave you breathless. This song alone is worth the price of the album, which they sell for $15 at Walmart btw, a steal !!!! It is an amazing cd set that would make an awesome gift, not just to us, fans of the show, but to anyone who appreciates good Christmas music... Enjoy !!!
