Wonderfully written. Insightful, honest, heartwarming, inspiring. Animals are the best. They remind us what life is all about.

This is a worthwhile read, and quite informative, but I offer a caveat. The first 100+ pages tell you much more than you would ever want to know about the author and all her thoughts about nearly everything she's ever had a thought about. Feel free to skim, as you won't miss anything important.
The second 100+ pages are much more interesting, as the training of the puppy is described in detail. Lots of detail. But still, it's good.
The last third of the book is the best part, as she is able to go about answering the questions she poses in the first third. Really revealing and absorbing.

I loved this book. It was heartwarming, funny and informative. I felt empathy for Sharron when she had to return the dog for graduation into the NEADS program but at the same time knew it was the right thing to do. A lovely story.

"Daisy the Labrador retriever lived five days a week in a prison, where she was a pupil in the National Education for Assistance Dog Services programme, but at weekends she went to live with journalist Sharron Luttrell, who volunteered to help with Daisy's accommodation to life in the "real world." Keith, Daisy's inmate trainer, and Sharron had to learn a lot about the work of service dogs and how to train them, and Sharron often consulted with Keith and asked his advice. Sharron's memoir, Weekends with Daisy, offers both information and inspiration in this lively account of Daisy, her two trainers, and the Luttrell family."
