While the writing was light and humorous, Love By The Morning Star just didn’t quite work for me. What started out as a charming comedy of errors soon became just a series of silly scenes and double entendres. I think the subject matter of the persecution of the Jews and the rising power of the Nazis was not the right background material for this romantic farce.

Loved it. There's nothing else to say.

I didn't love this book quite as much as I expected to, given that English period romantic wartime books are a particular love of mine, but it was still a solid read. It's a tale of mistaken identity that wasn't resolved until the last few pages of the book, and I think I might have found it a bit less frustrating if that could have gotten resolved sooner. However, fans of stories of servants and aristocrats in English country manors will still enjoy this addition to the genre, especially given that it's geared at teens, who have fewer options than adults do when looking for books of this nature.
