This was a pretty good book, but it did not meet my expectations. It didn't capture me the way I had hoped for. My journey through this book was really frustrating because I never got fully into the book. There was minimal sexual content and mild swearing; but i wouldn't recommend it to people younger than 12. Some of the concepts in the book were difficult to understand because the book is placed in such a technology advanced world.

Great book if you love Dystopic young adult fiction. This book relies strong on anti-Food control and anti-capitalistic messages, with messages of human community. All pertinent issues in our current society as social media and electronic media is replacing real "true" human connectivity, love and creativity and as Monsanto is essentially waging a "seed freedom" war underground.
It's a worrisome issue, that if not brought to light will surely become something of this book.
Creepy sub-plots like the "all natural" community where half of the teens were pregnant and blindly following the leader are creepy, and I wish there had been more elaboration in them. I felt the book could've turned into a series if it had not been so rushed. I would've loved to read more.
Shows a great message to always follow your own head and not the "normal" status quo, following and doing what you believe in.
