This book is amazing! Not as funny as the other two, and it goes on longer than needed, but it is still fantastic!

My son and I love this series. It is suspensful, humorous and touching at times. You can relate to the characters. I especially got a kick out of Duncan. This book is 9 cd's and I was wondering if my 9 year old would be interested enough to listen all the way through - he actually didn't want to stop listening. I hope there will be more coming.

I absolutely LOVE how Christopher Healy constructed funny, interesting, and awesome characters into his terrific and hilarious book! He changes fairytale characters from their normal appearance-sweet, perfect, and brave-into something truly amazing! The author created a cool ending to this series. I recommend this series to anyone and everyone!!! :D

An Amazing book.
I have enjoyed the rest of the series also and have read them multiple times. I enjoyed all the characters very much but my favorites were: Ruffian the blue, Lila, Duncan, and Frederic. I can't wait to see what Mr. Healy has in store for more books.

A hearty ending to a hearty series. Loved this wonderful ride that Mr. Healy took us on! Full of adventure, action, suspense, weird jokes, gags worth a chuckle or two. Or three.
If you're looking for a rather definite ending to this series, prepare to be disappointed. I think it was in the style of Mr. Healy to end the book (and the series) the way he did, and although the open questions bouncing around at the end may bother some, well....cry me a river. And go write your own fanfiction. I literally don't care, because the ending...FIT. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.
I very much enjoyed this series and became attached to the characters. Particularly Frederic, Gustav, and Briar (yes, she grew on me from the first book, and the fanfic community might explore her a bit more).
The series had its flaws, but it had its joys too! Anyways, it's just a marvelous series. I loved it! I can't wait to see what other creations Mr. Healy breathes into being.

A ruritanian romp by a fabulistor? A laugh a page slapstick vaudeville
by 'word'. The Hero of A Thousand Faces, or Berthe's codes are hard to
find herein.
Monkey thinking characters, fraught with indecision, impulsiveness,
lack of planning, and a whole lot of confidence. Cinderalla and Snow
White; taken to the cleaners of disrespect, and ridicule.
A sign of the times perhaps, no vision, no values, instant
gratification, no thoughts required.
A quick read, just suspend reality for a time. Spenlergians arise,
nothing is sacred. We are doomed! But until then, lets have a laugh.

(Duncan) Throw me at him!
(Gustav) Didn't that go badly once before?
(Duncan) Yes. But nothing can fail that horribly twice.
(Gustav) *shrugs* Can't argue that logic.

(Liam) "We can do this, people. We can-"
(Duncan) "Ooh, ooh! Can I give the hero speech this time? I never get to give the hero speech."
(Liam) *sighs*
(Duncan) "We can do this, my friends! We can save the day! And be heroes! Because heroes are awesome! And we are awesome! Don't be afraid. Being afraid is not for heroes, which we are. Being afraid is for...Well, I suppose if it's not for heroes, then it must be for villains. But who are villains afraid of? Oh, I know! Us! The heroes! Um...Nothing can stop us, bring your A-game, a stitch in time saves nine, and don't count your chickens before they're hatched. Heroes rule!"

((SPOILER))
"That's the best news we've heard in ages," Frederic said. "Briar is alive."
"I still have a chance to thank her," Liam said softly.
"And we can prove we didn't kill her," Gustav said.
"And I can finally get back that pencil she borrowed," Duncan added.
Everybody stared at him.
"It was a really good pencil," he said.
Gustav shoved him into a garbage can.
