A new killer is on the loose: a criminal inspired by Lincoln Rhyme's original nemesis, the Bone Collector. The killer's methods are terrifying. He stalks the basements and underground passageways of New York City. He tattoos his victims' flesh with cryptic messages, using a tattoo gun loaded with poison, resulting in an agonizing, painful death. When a connection is made to the Bone Collector--the serial killer who terrorized New York more than a decade ago--Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs are immediately dranw into the case.

Great read with very satisfying conclusion and lead in to next novel. Rhyme is depicted as a bit more arrogant than I remember from previous novels but will be interesting to follow character development as he recuperates some of his hand function.

An intriguing plot - some surprises. I was somewhat disappointed - not his better works and a flat ending - suggesting a follow-up book.

A good mystery that keeps you guessing and going the whole time while worrying about the characters.

I found myself just skimming through the last one third of the book. It certainly isn't one of Deaver's best works.

Another classic Deaver. With fewer charts and more interwoven intrigue,

Not a bad read but certainly not Jeffery Deaver's best.
