I found this book really easy to read, and difficult to put down. It was fast pace and full of action.

Pretty good mystery and relevant subject.

But two women and sheriff remind me of characters in teen horror movies who are warned there is a ax murder in the woods---and immediately go into the woods !

The two women also stupidly put others as well as themselves because they are curious [one is a reporter] and want to protect/revenge then men they love.
