It's got interesting art. But, like many have said before, the story is damned atrocious. It's often very unclear why things are happening and in a depressing number of instances, what's happening. I mean, damn, Batman riding dinosaurs, going to war, some neat bat-gear this should have been good! This could have been good! Why couldn't Adamns just draw and let someone else work with him to create a coherent plot and dialogue????

What's better than trying to wade through this book? Just go enjoy other people deconstructing it in:

Deconstructing the complete and utter insanity of Batman Odyssey. (Just google Batman Odyssey, it's the first thing that pops up.)

I swear, they aren't exaggerating. It's crazy.

I wanted to read this because I am a longtime Batman fan, and because many people said how bad it was. I figured it must be pretty interesting in a "it's so bad it's good kind of way." It's not. It's just bad in a bad kind of way. The story jumps all over the place, the dialogue made my head spin, and most of all this is not Batman. It might be ok if you knew nothing about Batman, but so much of the way the character behaves here is totally out of character for him. You might be tempted to read it like me, but take my advice, just skip it and read Hush, the Long Halloween, or R.I.P. Again.

I really liked it. Had I not read the Return Of Ra's al Ghul this would probably be my favorite Batman story. I agree with everyone else on the story line bouncing around, but I did not mind it as the story was supposed to be an impossible and crazy story anyways. When it comes to comics, its like come on....these are just comics! They are not supposed to be real so I enjoy the adventure and appreciate the art. Anyone who likes Batman should read this.

After 50 years in the comics business, Neal Adams' art is as dynamic as ever. But oh! the scripting! The dialogue seems like a sloppy first draft.

This is probably the worst comic story arc I've ever read. The dialogue is headache inducing, there are characters and situations that are left unexplained for a long time (or never explained).

?:0 ummmmm... well... then the story got more lost in its own noncencical twists and unnessisary complexity and words...not like a story, more like self ramblings that are thoughts you wish you had not verblised. The art was so much fun and by one of my favorite Batman Drawerers Neal Adams... but to read, was painfull at times...

Well... the story doesn't make much sense and it is really wordy and dense but Neal Adams' art is still top notch. You'll enjoy this more if you are a fan of Neal Adams rather than just a fan of Batman.
