The iconic, tough-but-tender Boston P.I. Spenser returns in an outstanding new addition to Robert B. Parker's bestselling series. Kinjo Heywood is one of the New England Patriots' marquee players - a hard-nosed linebacker who's earned his reputation as one of the toughest guys in the league. When off-field violence repeatedly lands Heywood in the news, his slick agent hires Spenser to find the men who he says have been harassing his client. But when Heywood's nine-year-old son Akira is kidnapped, ransom demands are given, and a winding trail through Boston's underworld begins. A controversial decision from Heywood only ups the ante as the clock winds down on Akira's future.

He's got the dialog and a lot of Spenser's characterization right--but he doesn't quite have Spenser's soul. Susan would *not* love this Spenser. And the high volume of product placement is really annoying.

The characters are the same.
Ace Atkins does a real good job
with them.
The dialogue just is not that of
Robert B. Parker. May he rest in
peace. I miss him.

Funny and terse writing style, very much in line with Parker's own voice.
