This is book #4 in the Inspector Anders Knutas series set on the small and fascinating Swedish island province of Gøtland; this episode in the series has a very well constructed plot that would earn it a score of 8 or 9 (instead of just a 5) if it weren’t for that self-absorbed reporter character who survived the last book and is causing problems in this one too; he just can’t seem to stay out of police business and his super annoying behaviour during the last 50 or more pages of this book nearly ruined it for me; moreover, there aresignificant holes in the story plus some inexplicable behaviour that is unforftunately necessary to the progress of the story; the story should have been constructed to not need them; still, though, I did manage to read the book in one day and I was able to guess the main features of the story without even trying, which probably means the whole story is too superficial to require much reflection
