Some people don't know when they have it so good and Nancy was obviously one of them no wonder her parents were still changing her diaper so long after College aint nothing wrong wanting to not grow up just dont drag other people down in the muck and mire with you like Jim for example he DESERVED that apartment and Hans just low down but her Paris was vivid and Clever but for French food I prefer the Movie Babbettes Feast. In comparison Nutri Thomas' "To live and die in Paris " did'nt have Frette sheets but it did have a real struggle and a heroine who could take a social and cultural punch and keep on walking she ASKED for it whereas Nancy ...Requested it.

Hard to believe in some ways, that a person who has such initiative and intelligence can also be so easily manipulated and swayed by various men in her life. It was an interesting book to read and brought the era (60's) to life, but I kinda felt disappointed in the character's choices and her seeming inability to stand up for herself.

This book was a disappointment. Nancy K. Miller may have "rebelled again conventional expectations," but she is also, in my opinion, a misanthrope, so we see all of these experiences - which could have been insightful and/or inspiring - through jaded, cyncial, negative eyes.
Best to avoid.
