Lee Maracle's First Wives Club stories pulled me in. As a women I felt connected to the strength and vulnerability of her characters. While I was reading the characters came alive and so did I.
This book may be one of my first true experience of modern Coast Salish women's culture. In many ways unique and in many ways strikingly similar to my own.
If you love stories that speak, you'll love this book.
