A memoir by the eminent writer Yang Jiang, the wife of Qian Zhongshu, a Chinese literary giant. It is a record of the private life of her family. Through her lyrical prose, an image of a graceful human being emerges. Despite the hardship and the tragedy of the untimely death of their daughter resulting mainly from poverty and isolation, did not break her. Yang penned this memoir at the age of 92.
