I was so disappointed with Roland Smith's Chupacabra, the third volume in the Marty and Grace series. I really wanted to read an exciting book about the chupacabra, something I have been interested in for decades. I expected a Rick Riordan type story, with adventure and depth, but instead got a boring, couldn't-wait-to-finish book that could have been so much more than what it was. There was a brief summary of the previous Marty and Grace books, Cryptid Hunters and Tentacles, a prologue from the chupacabra's point of view, and nothing exciting after that. As a matter of fact, the chupacabra was not even mentioned in the book until 53% of the way through, and sparsely after that. And the vast majority of the book took place in a zoo. Boring. My great nephew read this book and said he enjoyed it. I am sad he could not read something a lot better. I do not recommend Chupacabra to anyone.
