I absolutely loved this book. I'm a mother of a busy toddler and expecting arrival of another baby any day now, and I'm glad I managed to finish reading it in time ;) I do not neccesarily want to immerse myself fully into the attachment parenting style the author uses, but I found many great tips and suggestions that now I will use for my children. Very funny book, well written and worth reading, it is actually so interesting, that I've read it in three days ;)

I'm not a parent yet but I want to be one someday soon so I am starting to read some parenting books. I love Mayim so I thought I'd read her book. I agree with some of the basic philosophies of attachment parenting - breastfeeding, gentle discipline (sort of) and not pressuring your kids all the time. But I also find issue with certain things - like how the dad has a limited role and how there is the notion that being separated from your kids, no matter how short a time period, is bad. Sadly, Mayim is now divorced, and I couldn't help but feel that some of this parenting style plays a role - yes, we are mammals, but as humans, we have more complex relationships than animals do and intimate relationships should not take a back seat to children - children should enhance the relationship, not take away anything from it. I could go on, but I won't. It was a well-written book and I learned some valuable things!

A perfect 'real life' addition to Dr. Sears' "Attachment Parenting" book. Expecially good chapter on life balance and discipline --this distinguishes it from other similar books and is what I needed. Witty writing, fun to read, not judgemental.

A very reassuring book that empowers a parent to follow their instincts and parent in their own way rather than caving into the pressures and ideals of others.
