This book was a revelation for me, and a strange, oddly thrilling find. I came across it quite by accident but was hooked by the title and could barely put it down once I began reading it. I read with amusement and sadness the various interviewees' recollections of their moms, finding myself dumbstruck and hugely relieved that someone else out there had gone through the same (or at least strikingly similar) things that I had.

Though it's not a requirement, I do agree that readers may want to have this book in hand while a therapist is helping them come to terms with all those memories and powerfully mixed emotions.
