Worthless. Reads like a 375 Maxim magazine article. Over the course of a year the author tries out several popular health ideas on himself in an attempt to better his health. The table of contents looks promising but the book reads like a comedy and not a serious attempt to test out these theories. There is a lack of detail as to how he implemented anything and little detail regarding results. The appendix has a decent summary of what he did but I still think the book is a complete waste of time. Better material on the subject of health is easy to find online.

His journey is told with humor and humbleness and the man is not afraid to embarrass himself - caveman fitness in Central park anyone? This is a funny book that sneaks in a lot of information and will motivate you to build a treadmill desk and eat your veggies.

Perfection was the goal of A.J. Jacobs as he pursued his mission for total body health. His quest was to remake his somewhat flawed body from head to toe. For two dedicated years he methodically used his body as an experiment to transform it to optimum health by researching the latest scientific data, consulting the leading health experts, exploring a myriad of diagnostic tests and even dipping into the realm of some fringe theorists. Told with humour and embarrassing frankness this amazingly brilliant book makes me want to reach out with enthusiasm for that big bunch of kale, run not walk to the gym, and give my cerebellum a workout along the way.
