In this supernatural thriller, hidden history, fantasy and action adventure, Browne uniquely reimagines and extends Milton's classic epic Paradise Lost. Here the war between heaven and hell rages on, though humankind remain oblivious. But when a series of murders in Brazil draws Bernadette Callahan onto the trail of a serial killer, she begins to suspect that the killer is more than human. With the help of a self-destructive religious historian Sebastian LaLaurie, they realise they have uncovered a hidden war between good and evil.

This book has no redeeming qualities, it's simply extremely bad. I'm glad I read the write-ups on the cover or I would have had no clue what was happening until about two thirds into the book. Unfortunately, all the praise was either bought or people must have been talking about another book
