While the target--professional team sports, particularly in the NFL, with pampered and over-protected players, idolatrous fans who care only that their Olympians win, and owners who care little for morality or the health of players--is a worthy one, Fox's writing in this novel is trite, trite, trite. The fact that Kathy Reichs endorsed it says little for her (assuming she actually read it).

Excellent read. Better than Patricia Cornwall. A different perspective on forensics. Great plot. Will be reading her other books.
