The author is touted as one of today's top suspense writers but I was very disappointed. The plot isn't a new one but it's lackluster. The cat & mouse game the main character, Wyatt Hunt goes through only fair.

I was enjoying this book a lot until about halfways in, when I think the author went a bit too far in trying to set up the plot and ended up ruining what would have been a perfectly good book without the "Jones" subplot. I like Lescroart's work but I don't think this was one of his best books

Probably not the best I've ready by him but a good read nonetheless

I agree with dorothy. I too have a read a number of his other books and found this one the least enjoyable - by a lot. The threads in the story just never connnected

I have enjoyed John Lescroart's books very much and could hardly wait to get this one. However, it did not meet my expectations, perhaps because I was hoping to meet the same cast of characters as his previous books.
It was slow moving, and wordier than necessary in my opinion. Wish I could say it to his face.

Sorry John!
