I love the world this movie shows the sumptuous scenery of Belgium and Morocco. The story is compelling too.

I liked this DVD. It is okay for young children. There is some subtle violence. No sexual scenes. The plot is strong. If you like 3D cartoons and pirate stories involving sleuthing you will like this movie.

Silly, but doable as a fun kids action film. (Indiana Jones: the cartoon version) However, even for animation, many of the reactive situations weren't believable for the characters, as defined. (Debated whether to give it 2 1/2 or 3 Stars. : )

Really funny movie even though it didn't exactly stick with the comic books.

Way too much: too long, overstuffed with cliché'd action. too eager to dazzle you with its cleverness and bludgeon you into submission, so you don't notice the void at the center.
I fast forwarded through the last third. Tin-Tin turns out to be a rather dull investigator; as usual in these films, all his vitality goes into the dog Snowy. Haddock is an incongruity -- as an alcoholic, is he a jerk or a pitiable victim?

Captain Haddock: I thought you were an optimist.
Tintin: You were wrong, weren't you? I'm a realist.
Captain Haddock: Ah, it's just another name for a quitter.
Tintin: You can call me what you like. Don't you get it? We failed.
Captain Haddock: Failed. There are plenty of others willing to call you a failure. A fool. A loser. A hopeless souse. Don't you ever say it of yourself. You send out the wrong signal, that is what people pick up. Don't you understand? You care about something, you fight for it. You hit a wall, you push through it. There's something you need to know about failure, Tintin. You can never let it defeat you.
