Seemingly out of the blue, Stone Barrington and NYPD detective Dino Bacchetti receive a most welcome invitation from the White House. It seems that President Will Lee needs their investigative talents -- and legendary discretion -- for a particularly sensitive case. For his part, Stone is pleased to discover they'll be working with his former partner in crime (and in bed), CIA agent Holly Barker. In the exclusive world of Washington politics, power and privilege often go hand in hand with private indulgences and clandestine affairs.

another good one.

If the characters weren't so busy hopping into bed they would have solved this half way through the book.

Another dud by Stuart Woods

Didn't enjoy this book at all, the writing was stilted, and very poor editing. The 'romantic' bits were superfluous and unconvincing. I tossed it aside by page 30.

Very light. As much as I love Stone and Dino this outing was a bit of a strain.

Exellent read. One thing that keeps intriguing me is a phone conversation Stone has with Charlotte Kirby (end of Chapter 38) who gives him another nickname for Brix. Yet when he gets off the phone he claims he was speaking to his secretary Joan. This is never brought up in the book again. Or did I miss something? If not, was it a faux pas by Woods, or is this leading somewhere for future story lines?

Enjoyed the story, a good mystery with some new twists as only Stuart Woods can do.

Light reading. Predictable writing! But I like Stone Carrington and Holly Barker as characters.

Another great adventure for Stone and Dino - enjoyed the new twists - and cliff hangers.

D.C. DEAD ---- by Stuart Woods c - 2012 (Stone Barrington Novel) ---- This story has Mystery and 'Action', that is low key. A very good read, with a good storyline build happening now or possibly a high action thriller to come. ---- Enjoy! ---- ( finished 1-16-12 ) RichardPaul
