I had so many mixed emotions throughout the story, but that was what made the story very intriguing and interesting. Deborah Ellis really captured the audience. I didn't put my book down from the moment I started to the moment I finished the book. I really love books by Deborah Ellis and in my opinion, this is one of my favourite books by her.

Our tale shifts between Jess in the present and her diary entries from the month of the murder. Jess and Casey were both counselors at the same summer camp in charge of the most obnoxious camper of all time. Still, no matter how annoying the girl was, Casey would not have murdered her....would she?

Wow what a book, throughout the whole book I had mixed emotions. The thing I hated was, what kind of friend is Jess!? It makes me so mad to think a of a friend like her! Jess was nothing of a true friend and the way she betray Casey by hanging out with a stupid gang and telling them anything about Casey, that was a cowardly thing to do.

This book was actually a pretty good read. I really liked this book -- up until the end. The end was horrible. It left me feeling depressed and I couldn't sleep till 1am thinking about it. I would think that the 2 true best friends would regain their relationship. But no....it just ended with everyone with broken hearts. The author explained the true friend relationship throughout the beginning of the book and because of this very detailed explanation it made me even more depressed thinking that this good relationship is gone all because of one mess up. Good story...but the end just ruined it all. Plus, I'm very emotional and I still can't stop thinking about it. If your emotionally strong, great read with not a bad ending. If not, great read with a horrible ending that just ruins the rest of the story.

This fast-paced mystery uses suspense and flashbacks that’ll keep you interested and guessing until the end.

This book was a little startling, but definitely an intriguing read.

A really intense story about a teen camp counselor accused of murdering an eight year old camper. The story is told from the point of view of the accused's best friend who tries to come to terms with what's happened. This book really makes you think, 'what would I have done?' A good read.
