Amusing, quick read. I must have missed her previous books because this one covered more recent events in Betty's life. This was not a satisfying read - not nearly enough info. I'll need to go back to read her older stuff to get a full picture of Betty, her life, her career and her loves.
Enjoyable glimpses into Betty's life -A quick read.
very funny book
"Who doesn't love Betty White? At age 91, the seven-time Emmy Award-winning actress is still going strong, having launched a successful reality comedy show, Betty White's Off Their Rockers, in 2012. In 2010, following a massive Facebook campaign on the part of her many, many fans, she hosted Saturday Night Live. In this upbeat, engaging memoir, White reviews her childhood, her long career in show business, and her musings on age, love, and friendship, as well as how to survive in the notoriously tough entertainment industry while remaining true to oneself." I liked the style of this book - light and entertaining. I read it in one sitting. If you're looking for a biography, this is not it. Pick up one of her other 5 or 6 books!
Very Boring...Boring
I was a bit disappointed but then realized it wasn't a biography but more a compilation of a bunch of columns and opinion pieces by a well loved celebrity. It's as if she wrote a blog and then compiled it into a book. A nice light read. I was finished in a couple of evenings. Most enjoyable for what it was.
A little like reading a letter from your favorite grandma - if grandma happens to be on friendly terms with Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, and the like. :) Just a nice, friendly book. I really enjoyed it.
I just love Betty White! If you're also a fan, I think you will enjoy this book. It's a quick read with some nice laugh-out-loud parts, perfect for a flight somewhere. A light-hearted and fun book--we all need that once in a while.
