1900s CE. What would you do if you had to flee your home, give up your best friends, starve in a refugee camp, and then find out your true history? This is Corlie's life in turn-of-the century South Africa.

I don't know a lot about the
Boer War - and I don't know of much fiction written about it either. This book offers an intense description of one young girl's experience as the daughter of a Boer fighter. When their home is burned, the family is forced into life in a refugee camp. A gritty reading experience.
