I found this book to be so poorly written that I could not finish it. The subject is complex and interesting....I wish I could say the same about this book.

I just finished reading this book, and I have to disagree with the previous poster. I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I was one of thoise kids who plyed to death with the Evel Knievel wind up toy. I had never thought more about this person (other than the toy I had) until I read this highly entertaining story. He was a bully, loudmouth, horrible person. In one word he was crazy! The previous poster mentioned that they wanted to "get inside his head", too much work, HE WAS CRAZY and explains it all. I do recommend this book. I just wish ther had been more pictures

When I read about a person, I want to know about that person, not only what they did, but some insight into their head.
This book fails to interest me on both counts. It tries to use a lot of stuff to fill up a book - a lot of uninteresting talk about his home town and people who lived there. I could not go very far in this book and ended up skimming through it to find any interesting bits. They are there, but not worth the tedium to get to.
