Not as compelling as The Drowning City (which is to say, I was able to put it down when I needed to sleep and eat), but still a richly imagined world. The characters, the court intrigue, the all weaves together in a way that makes each presence in the book a palpable and lovely thing. I hope Amanda Downum never stops writing, even as I desperately hope that Isyllt gets a break (and some food- yeesh!) soon.
