(The second book in the Cornish Mystery series)

Jan 10, 2015

This is my first book by Dunn, so I cannot compare it to her others, but it seems to be less a cozy mystery than a character study of Cornish villagers as they deal with murder. Very enjoyable, light read with enough people to entertain but not so many that one wants to make a chart to keep them straight. Dunn makes it clear who is and is not central to the story. I mostly chose this because I thought the dog played a central role, and was sorry it didn't.

This is the second in a new series. I enjoyed it. It is a relaxing story not an Agatha Christie deep thinker. Looking forward to reading book 3.

Figured out the murderer immediately. Characters are caricatures and not very interesting ones.

This reminded me a little of Mrs. Pickerel.

I finished this book but found the plot and characters too simplistic and not very realistic- best for a summer mindless read.

This was ok but I prefer the Hamish McBeth character. Was kind of slow to get through but the setting was interesting.

A second series by this author. Feed your family before you start, because you won't want interruptions.
