Big George: "You know I just, I can't drink whiskey like I usetacould. My old belly just ain't no count. I get the sh*ts every time don't you know."
Nobody: "Every night and every morn, some to misery are born. Every morn and every night, some are born to sweet delight. Some are born to sweet delight; some are born to endless night."
"Look out the window. And doesn't this remind you of when you're in the boat? And later that night, you're lying here, looking up at the ceiling. And the water in you're head is nothing similar to the landscape, and you ask yourself: Why is it that the landscape is moving, but the boat is still?"
SummaryAdd a Summary
Jim Jarmusch directed this brilliant, up-to-date western. Dead Man circles around William Blake (Johnny Depp), a timid accountant who travels to a western town in search of a job, but is later involved in a love triangle that ends deadly. Soon, a wealthy industrialist (Robert Mitchum in his last performance) whose son was killed in the triangle sends three professional, but dysfunctional bounty hunters to go after Blake.
Meanwhile, while on the run, Blake meets a wise Native American who calls himself Nobody, and who mistakes Blake for the poet William Blake. While on their journey (to where we don't know up until the end), Nobody ends up teaching Blake the ways of the "dead man."
