Deals with homosexuality and Biblical scripture, and suggests that religious anti-gay bias is based almost solely upon a misinterpretation of the Bible. Through the experiences of five Christian, American familes - including those of former House Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson - discover how people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child or family member.

Beautifully done documentary. Addresses this subject with great sensitivity and respectfulness as it shares multiple perspectives --- Very eye opening.

Wonderful documentary showing how some fundamentalist Christian couples cope with having a gay son or daughter. Often funny and heartwarming, and at other times tragic and infuriating. Some intelligent talking heads from various denominations help to dispel the more rabid right-wing rhetoric. An intensely human and compassionate foray into a highly divisive topic.

the last comment is a dogmatized condescending respond to alicia's heart felt thoughts.
sadly fund-a-mental-ists refuse to listen to logic and also ignore god's command to love their neighbours. This film deals very well with this exact problem - non-thinking/feeling/caring...rather: a narcissistic condescending of anyone that does not fit their hate filled views.

In response to "aliciamarie's" comment, "It lets everyone ... decide for himself," I think of Proverbs 14:12 that says, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." Although God does allow everyone to "decide for himself," that does not mean He approves of every decision.

This film is entertaining, eye-opening, and incredibly thought-provoking. One of the most significant religious documentaries I've ever seen. The world needs to see this movie. I'm sure many Christians would see this film as "dangerous" or "false", but on the contrary. It lets everyone have a say and decide for himself. As a Christian, I'm so happy I saw this film and it is both inspiring and encouraging.
