Im 32 years old and was introduced to Tom Jones the very first time I saw the 007 movie Thunderball with Sean Connery which was back in my early 20's. Since that song, I fell in love with his voice. His music has so much emotion in it. Not like anything today. Can't compare to anything today.
I know that some people may think that I'm a total square if I say that I like Tom Jones, but, hey, I ain't gonna lie - 'Cause I think this dude (at the height of his singing career) was a truly sensational vocalist.
I mean, Tom Jones could certainly belt out a tune, especially one tailor-made for his rich, baritone voice, like the song "Its Not Unusual".
Still going strong today (at the age of 75), Tom Jones has successfully tackled songs from almost every genre imaginable in music, like - Pop, Rock, Country, and "blue-eyed" Soul, too.
This 2-disc, "Gold" collection contains over forty tracks in all, recorded by Tom Jones in the years between 1965 to 1975. Three of my favourite songs are - Help Yourself, Thunderball, and I'm Coming Home.
How can there be a Tom Jones collection without "Leave your hat on"?
