This is a picture book about the North American love affair with the car. Ending in the golden age, making it a very one-sided look at the car. Yes, the author has a little blurb at the end about parking his car and riding his bike, but that only adds to the hollow feel of this book. It's almost as if it was paid for by an oil or car company.

Disappointing.

This is a really engaging kid's book about the history of the automobile. It appears to be set in the Vancouver area. The illustrations are beautiful. The only (very small) part I didn't like was the author's reference at the end to driving as recreation rather than transportation. Mind you I might be tempted to go for more recreational drives if I lived in on the West Coast...
