John, who occasionally does work for the United States Department of Homeland Security, receives a call to bring in a hacker named Matt Farrell, because there has been a breach in an FBI computer system. Farrell is one of the many hackers who are suspected in the attack. After John gets to Matt's apartment, a group of men show up and try to kill John and Matt. They barely escape with their lives. A group of terrorists led by Thomas Gabriel are systematically shutting down the United States computer infrastructure. Luckily, Matt knows enough about hacking to figure out how Gabriel is shutting down the computers. Gabriel plans to bring the country to its knees, but he doesn't count on John and Matt. Gabriel wants John and Matt out of the way. It becomes personal for John when an enraged Gabriel kidnaps his daughter Lucy. Gabriel may think he now has the upper hand on John, but he has no idea how far John is willing to go to rescue Lucy.

Add a CommentThis movie has some of the best sounds i've heard in an action film in a long time and it demands to be played on your HOMETHEATER!!! Explosions, machine guns, cars, a jet, and bombs give this action packed movie serious sounds for you to enjoy. I must admit one of my favorite scenes for sound is when Mr. Willis goes to bring in a computer hacker while the bad guys shootup the apartment. But there are many scenes that have just as good audio as that one. Which is why i bought this movie and added it to my collection. I have to give this serious sounding action movie 5 stars!!!!! Great sound effects, great action, good story, and cool characters. A very large hero with Salami, boiled ham, american cheese, tomatoes, mayo, a touch of relish, and a very large arizona ice tea with popcorn on the side.
Lots of action, one of the better die hard series.
You definitely need to turn off your brain for this one. If you know anything about computers you are going to be holding your head throughout. If you know anything about physics you have to keep reminding yourself "It's only a movie. It's only a movie." But, if you can do that, it is kinda fun to switch off and watch the flickering images ...
This was a great action film. I saw the original Die Hard and I loved it. It was equal to this one. I liked Bruce Willis, Justin Long and of course, the action. This is a crazy film, but who cares? It's one of the Die Hard films! Go out and see it at once!
I was expecting to be disappointed, but this movie was great! Well done!
Yippee-ki-yay!!! Over the top fun is what you'd expect from this firm, and its what you get! Not a bad installment for the series!
More extreme violence, physically improbable stunts, oozing testosterone, and snappy one-liners for Die-Hard fans--of which I am one. Attractions of this particular installment include an interesting computer-geek-cyber-crime plot line.
